The fingerprints of God...

Posted by Robin Rolls on Wednesday 30 Apr 2008, 12:10PM

Does God have hands?  No I don't think so - well not in a real 5 fingers sort of sense anyway I don't think :s  I could do a cheesy link here about 'no hands but our hands' but I won't!

I just wondered because if God DOES have hands, then he DOES have fingers, and therefore fingerprints.  Now I know this is a bit wierd, but last night I was at a meeting where the fingerprints of God were all over the thing!  Loads of people there, an amazing passion for what we wanted to do - to be honest I've never been a a meeting quite like it.  I had to say a few things, and it seemed to be moving so amazingly forward that had I said 'can someone fetch me a Sheep'......I think I would have got one (not that I wanted one - in fact that was a rubbish thing to say but hey I've done it now :))

So what does it mean if the fingerprints of God are all over something?  I suppose it means it feels like he has marked something as his own, his divine unique traits are everywhere, identifying her to it.  Does that make sense?  I hope so. I've learned this week of fingerprints elsewhere too - Youth workers arriving by the shedload to Leicester Diocese, new expressions of worship, plans and dreams suddenly coming together.....as my little boy says when he sense something's happening:  "Aslan's on the move Daddy, Aslan's on the move"......

Have a great day and I'm sorry I haven't blogged for ages, we're working on a way of allowing you to blog on here, and that should be along soon.
